Hi , i would like to know how to cancel my spousal sponsorship without family or c/o signer knowing, im stuck in an arranged marriage and the case is in process, is there a way to cancelling it without family knowing?
Please help

I'm afraid, it is not possible to cancel without the co-signer or the person being sponsored knowing. CIC has to inform them you have withdrawn your sponsorship. If your co-signer(husband?) can not meet LICO requirements on his own, CIC will reject the application.

I take it you are sponsoring your parents or in-laws? Remember you signed an undertaking so if the sponsored person(s) becomes a permanent resident, you are responsible for them financially for quite some time.

Who's family? Yours or your spouse?

Eventually your spouse will find out one way or another. So it is best to just cancel the sponsorship and then tell all parties involved upfront.

Hi

You need to provide more info. You mention spousal sponsorship but then talk about a co-signer, when it's not possible to have a co-signer with spousal apps. Are you sponsoring your spouse or co-signing for your spouse to sponsor parents? Are you in Canada?

If you cancel it, no one will know immediately but they will find out fairly soon, especially if the spouse checks the online status. If you are afraid that something will happen to you if you cancel the application, then you should seek help. There are many organizations that can help in such situations.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant spousal sponsorship, hes my spouse but i wanted to cancel it, but do not want them finding out I cancelled it because its going to cause problems for me,
i wanted to know if immigration will just tell them it has been denied or rejected instead of saying its been cancelled.
Thanks for your help

CIC will tell your husband that the application has been withdrawn.

I had 2 cases in my 2012 inland sponsorship timesheets that the applicants were informed that the application was withdrawn. Not rejected or denied. One accidentally withdrawn the PR application. The other withdrawn the PR on purpose.

In both cases, the applicants were informed by email that the application was withdrawn and the PR application process is considered closed.

Agreed with what others have told you. There is no way to hide things unfortunately. The person you are sponsoring will know that you withdrew / cancelled the application.

. Have to ask... How is an application accidently withdrawn?

Write CIC a letter telling them you just want to immigrate to Canada to go on welfare and get free health care and thats the only reason you maried the guy. They should deny the application. You can also try misrepresenting yourself, for example, send them a new Background Declaration form, and lie all over it and tell them you were in the military and committed war crimes. They should deny the application under those circumstances as well.

I dont really think those are your best options, your best option is to just be honest that you dont want to be with that guy.

The sponsor withdrawn the PR application by mistake. Thus by accident.

You can also send in an open work permit application, on background informtion where it asks "Are you, or have you ever been a member or associated with any political party, or other group or organization which has engaged in or advanced violence as a means to achieving a political or religious objective, or which has been associated with criminal activity at any time" and check "yes".

ok. Wasn't being smart , seriously was just wondering how that could happen. One's worst nightmares

steerpike,

As much as your ideas are ways to help make the application get denied, you are only making it worst for the OP. The OP may be the one sponsoring the husband that was pre-arranged. You are giving the OP zero chances in being able to sponsor a different foreign spouse if she so chooses to.

If she is the one being sponsored by the husband, don't you think she deserves alternative means to immigrate Canada, say by her own merits via Skill Worker Program.

I agree with screech....best thing is to cancel it straighforward if you are sure that is what you want to do.....yes, your husband/ family may get to know about it...but thats bound to come up sometime in the future anyway.

Please dont imply any false information on your application or it will definitely close all canadian immigration doors for you or your family in the future.

I dont want to make it worse for anyone. So yes, its important to note that misrepresenting yourself with make it impossible to sponsor/immigrate to Canada with anyone else in the future. It's not a good option.

I would hope CIC does an interview for all "arranged marriages" (if they arent then they are being very unfair to everyone else) and in that case, in the interview she could just say "i dont know" to every question asked, and the application would be likely denied.
