Canceling temporary visa before issuing PR visa ...

Hi all,
I hope all going well for you, just wanted to ask

If someone got a valid canadian visitor visa on his passport (never used) but wants to send in his passport to get the Permanent Resident Visa (got the passport request) , does this person need to first cancel the vistor visa then apply for the other, or is this done automatically at CIC?

temporary visa expires in 6 months anyway, PR visa has nothing to do with temporary, I don't see any delay on that. temporary visa is to enter and go out of Canada on time, but PR one is for you to stay and be eligible for most of the services over there.

Just can't wrap my head around the idea of 2 valid visas on the same passport, which one will the immigration officer will choose to stamp/enter into the system, or is it up to me to choose.
don't want CIC to receive my passport and say : nope, need to get rid of the temporary one first.

Any similar experience?

Hi

Don't worry yourself over what is not a big deal. The Visa Oficers know their jobs and will do what is in line with the operational manual. Your visitor visa will be cancelled and the PR Visa applied as it superceeds the visitor visa.
