Hi All,

Quick question. My partner got his PR for Canada (yeah) and we are planning on moving back together in July. However we have family in the US that we would like to visit before arriving in Canada.

The issue is that my partner is not from a VWP country - so he needs a visitors visa to the US. Has anyone had this experience before? How does he prove ties to a country (either Canada or Israel) and that he is going to leave the US - when we are stopping in the middle of our move?

He has a job offer in Canada - but we still don't have a house yet.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Maybe showing proof of the Canadian PR and your marriage, plus the job offer, will help.

He most likely would be denied the visitor visa. I've seen many cases where they like to see the PR has lived/worked in Canada for 1 year. If he has easily been able to get visitor visas to the States in the past there is no harm in trying.
