Hi, this is somewhat of an urgent issue for me, I hope someone can help me out...
I will be applying for US citizenship at the end of this year (2007). I also started applying for Canadian PR two years ago, at the time I was assured by my lawyer that the PR application would not affect my US greencard status or citizenship application. Currently I work in Canada on a work permit.
Recently I consulted with a lawyer in the US regarding US citizenship application. According to him, if my Canadian PR gets approved while I am applying for US citizenship, it will adversely affect my application (basically, I can apply for it, but it better be approved after my citizenship application comes through). Given that my Canadian PR can be approved anytime now (I got a request to do medical exam two months ago), what can I do to postpone the approval of my Canadian PR?
Please help...
