Hi all,

I have already sent my outland application but realized I messed up on the police certificates (my certificates were over the 3 months period) so I have to re-apply for them and send them ASAP. However, I am getting conflicting information about the Canadian police clearing.

I originally sent 3 certificates with my application: UK, France and my fingerprints from Canada. I was told that I should also send one from Quebec because I lived in Montreal for 2 years prior to moving to Toronto. I have also been told that I don't need a police certificate from Canada at all as they do their own security checks. I'd rather be safe than sorry but could someone clarify this issue for me?

Also, once I receive all my police certificates, should I just send it to the Mississauga office? Presumably with my file number (UCI)? I'm worried it will get lost.

Thanks

You should not require a PCC from Canada as they do indeed do their own background/security checks.
Send your PCC's along with your UCI so they can match your PCC's your submitting with your application.

It's stated very clearly in the guide, no Canadian police checks are required: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/3999Etoc.asp

Police certificates
You and your family members who are 18 years of age and older and are not permanent residents or Canadian citizens must provide:
valid police certificate, or
police clearance, or
record of no information.
These documents are to be provided for each country other than Canada, in which you have lived for six (6) consecutive months or longer since reaching the age of 18.

Correct. No police record from Canada is required.

That's good because I was wondering how I was getting them because my husband was sent back too Jamaica on an exclusion order..
