It has only been a week and you've already received your certificate back.

This was pretty quick compared to other people's timelines.

Congrats! Post an update once you receive the holy grail in the mail.

Hi
Can someone please tell me what "size" was the certificate package? was it just the certificate or some other papers/brochures as well?
and was it delivered using Canadapost trackable shipment?
Was it left in the mailbox or community mail box or was card was left out to be collected from the nearby station?
My certificate was mailed out on June 8th but havent received it yet. I am worried now that its lost somewhere. Need help here please
Thanks friends

It was sent in 8x14 envelope I think and was deposited in local mail box. It can take upto two weeks to deliver. It'll arrive, don't worry.

I have a suggestion guys. When sending your original citizenship certificate with your passport application, I suggest you use a large enough document/photo mailer. Found one on Amazon "Seal-It Mail and Ship 81334-MS-30 Photo/Document Mailer, Chipboard, 9"x12", Pack of 30 (81334-MS-30)". You can use any photo/document mailer, this is only an example.

I am not providing the direct link as the admins/mods might remove the post citing external shopping links. This mailer has "DO NOT BEND" written on it in bold red letters. In addition to this, put your citizenship certificate inside a page protector.

I think if you send the citizenship certificate in a page protector, they will send it back the same way (with the page protector).

The last thing we want is our citizenship certificates to be crumpled.

Hi All,

Quick Question..

I am in the process of mailing out my application for the passport.
Do you have to send a prepaid return envelope for them to send us the passport?
When you received your citizenship certificate back was it bended? Hoping they don’t bend it.
When i mail it with my application will use those envelope from Canada’s post with sign do not bend.
Anything important i should know?

Does anyone have an idea when passport office will open for walk ins instead of mailing?

Congrats to all those who got their passports.

Thanks.

No, you don't need to include return envelope.

Important things to keep in mind are:

i) go through the checklist to ensure everything is included in the package, application is fully signed with all the required fields filled out.
ii) ensure guarantor has put applicant's name and signed the back of one of the photos.
iii) send it to correct courier/mailing address.
iv) Send it in Canada express post envelope which can take the whole thing without bending.

For citizenship certificate, in order to avoid from being bent:

i) follow suggestion from rajkamalmoahnram.

Alternatively, you can follow the home made solution:

i) have cereal box/card board slightly cut bigger than the certificate itself.
ii) get a clear paper protector (can get that from $ store).
iii) place the cardboard into the clear paper protector, followed by certificate on top of the card board and place a 8x11 paper on top inside the paper protector, put paper clip (only if you have sitting around, otherwise paper protector will keep it together).
iv) you can also write, "Citizenship Certificate" on that white paper along with "Please do not bend" before putting it into paper protector.

Guys, my oath is next week, I am planning to travel end of September, do you think I have enough time?
Yes, you should be fine with plenty of time to spare.

Tentative timeline for you.

Oath by: 25-Jun
Citizenship certificates: 25-Jun + 15 days = 10-Jul
Send passport application by lets say 20-Jul
Max. one month to receive passports = 20-Aug
