Canadian Passport about to expire

Hi, My sister (Canadian national) is currently in Indian and planning to come back to Canada on May 22nd and her passport will expire on June 2nd. My question is will this be an issue when travelling ? I know there is a requirement of passport at least having 6 months of validity when travelling. I am not sure if this only applies to tourism travel or will apply when returning back to your country also. Please let me know.

As long as the passport she is carrying is a Canadian passport.
