I am to go to China to wed my Chinese fiance in October. I do know what documents we will need so she can come back to Canada with me to live. Could anyone help me with this matter? Also I have been trying to find out where I can find a Single Proof document that is needed in China to proof that I am single. Do I need all my forms translated into Chinese and if so can they be done at the Chinese Consulate. I would be going to the Toronto Chinese Consulate on Saint George St.
Any help sure would be appreciated.
Thanks Matt

you need to apply for spousal visa before she comes to Canada, and as far as documents, they must be in english i believe.
You can apply from within Canada but they may not allow her to come in with you if you tell them you were just married. They frown on people applying inland. Much quicker to do it outland anyway, read the site then come back if you have any problems..

go here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

As for marriage abroad... we got married in Slovenia and my husband needed something called "Statements In-Lieu of Certificate of Non-Impediment to Marriage Abroad". It's issued by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, see here. The processing time is 25 working days, so I'm not sure you can even get it in time. They'll need your birth certificate and a statutory declarition of yours stating you're not married.
Based on this link, it seems you'll need the same thing. I'd recommend your fiance goes to check with whomever will be marrying you, it's what I did.

The others are right that you need to apply to sponsor her and she has to apply for and receive PR before you can bring her back to Canada with you. Depending on which part of China you are in, this can take awhile.

Go to the Canadian Embassy website for China. They should have the information you need about the non-impediment to marriage. Translations can be done by any certified translator.
