I am married to an american. He is still working in US. We have filled out all the forms and received positive response from Quebec immigration. We are now waiting for the canadian ambassy in US to analyse our papers and hopefully admit my husband in Canada (Quebec) as a permanent resident.
All information were sent to CIC beginning of July 2014. On the CIC website it says it takes average of 30 months for the paper work to get processed by canadian ambassy in US.
Anyone has recent similar experience and did you get any communication during the wait period ?
Thank you
Cat

all US applications go to Ottawa and get processed there(most of them) look for the ottawa thread on the forum

the current processing time for us citizens is about 6 months. there is not a 30 month wait for us citizens, even those requiring interviews.

us applications are not processed in the US unless an interview is called, and then it is held in LA. the information you are look at is misleading and doesn't just represent family class pr applications.

i'd encourage you to join the ottawa thread and add yourself to the tracking spreadsheet for the ottawa visa office, which can be found in my signature below. you will be able to get a good idea of which applicants are currently recieving approvals.

apparently NYC doesn't process family class applications anymore. due to either office closures or redistriubution of responsibilities, LA is the only office, and ALL interviews are held there.
