heres the situation... and being that no one in the immig office here in guatemala can help.... maybe you can.
i have printed out all the kits they offer off the site... but i am drowning in confusion.
i am canadian. been living in guatemala last 5 years.
civilly married to guatemalan for 4 years.
have daughter..accepted and approved as canadian citizen..only need to apply for passport.
hubby... under skilled worker ( electrician, plumbing and HVAC) assesments scores 63-74 ( depending on sites)... 63 on the official cic.gc.ca site .............so he fails.
$550 per application under this clas.. plus $2030 for IETLS!?!?!?!? ouch!
also.. they suggest on the application that you come with $10,000 in the bank.. if you dont have this amount is it automatic rejection?!?!?!
but my question is... being that i have lived here and not in canada... for the last 5 years am i still eligible to sponsor him?!?!?
i only have 3 family members in canada and only my grandmother of 95 yrs is eligilble to sponsor maybe.. the others have been on gov assist in the last year.
would it be easier for me to return to canada to start this process ?? and really how long is the wait time... what have you guys experienced) they say anwhere from 12-18 months
after seeing all the fee and tesst that are necessary for skilled worker, and being that i cant find a company to hire him... i am banging my head against a wall... and i have heard recently of worse cases!.
any advice?
thanks.
Judy
