Age:31, Single and came to India last year in January (2020) after staying in US for almost 9 years. Went for US for master's when I was barely 21, and returned last year after lot of thoughts due to personal reasons.

Things have gone really bad in these 16 months and I am kind of desperate to leave India. I realized my mistake, but unfortunately I did not plan for a backup while returning. I am trying for Canada, my CRS is 467 and NOC code is 2147 for FPGA Design Engineer which is part of monthly tech draws. I have education in same field and working in this domain for almost 7+ years.

I entered my profile on 14th April to later realize latest tech draw was on 13th and I missed it by 1 day. But I keep getting weird thoughts in my mind, from past several months that maybe that's my destiny. I gave IELTS 5 times to get the acceptable score (L, S, W, R of 9,8,7,9) in these risky COVID times. Now that I would not be picked up from Express entry for OINP. I have BMI of 34 (Was originally 41), and recently I started slight medication for my Blood pressure as my blood pressure of high was reaching 140. I am slightly pre-diabetic with h1c 6.1. Although I am much healthier than before and exercise daily and walk for 1 hour and cover 6.5 Km. So now I keep getting thoughts I would be rejected in medical or India would go in another lockdown and police certification.

I sometimes regret I came back to India without a backup, I should have done this Canadian thing while I was in US. I earn decent money with my base salary above 35Lacs in India, but no matter how much money I get I dont think I can adjust and live happily here as most of my adulthood was in US. This I realized only after coming back to India. I don't know, please suggest.

Thank You

Your score is most likely low to get Express Entry directly. Since there have been no draws this year, most of us are expecting the scores to be well above 470 when they start up again. Maybe they will drop eventually. However your age is working against you at this point.

You can continue to hope you get selected through OINP.

Another option would be to focus your efforts on learning French as quickly as you can so that you can potentially get points for a second language.

I guess another option would be to come to Canada as an international student to complete another Master's or a PhD.

Is returning to the US not an option for you?

Well I am still in touch with my US manager, so there is some chance they would re-hire me. I can apply for other companies too but due to some family issues, I am not really keen on going back to US as it would mean an uncertain path for PR.

Well I am counting on OINP only, that's the reason I mentioned my NOC. I had a 30 minutes call with an immigration firm in Canada and had already sent my resume and everything to them. They said if my profile was in the express entry by tech draw of April 13, I would have got the NOI for sure since my NOC is one of the 6 high demand fields. I did not go ahead with them as they were asking for fees of 10,000 USD.

I have applied to Canadian Univ (7 of them) for another master's and PhD but no response from any of them yet. Really nervous at this time, thinking I might get stuck in India for life. Things are crazy here due to Covid, I keep geting panic what if I could not get PCC on time, or if Indian company does not give a letter with proper duties. Easy to convince HR in US but in India they are really thick skinned. And then worry about medical.

You can go through the immigration process yourself. There is no need for a consultant.

There are others on this forum who have been unable to obtain reference letters from employers. I would suggest you spend time reading through posts on the forum to find out how they solved for this problem.

If your PCC cannot be obtained in time due to COVID, IRCC will give you more time to submit it.

You should continue to focus on improving your health.
