Hi Experts,

I have a query regarding Canadian Exp consideration for points.

My work duration was slightly (15 days) less than 2 years in Canada, however it seems points calculated for me considered 2 years. I started working in Canada on 16-Jan-2013 & worked till 31-Dec-2014. As option for experience only mentions Months & Year (Jan-2013 to Dec-2014), hence it seems system considered it 2 years. Could this impact my PR prospects if I get an ITA?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, even if the system gives you those points in advance you should one be claiming 1 year of work experience.

Yes, if you get an ITA based on points for 2 years of experience, when you apply, the VO will (should) recalculate your points based on 1 year. If you then fall below the CRS score threshold for your draw, you will be refused as ineligible.

Thanks! I should then change my experience to start from Feb, so that it only counts 1 year & I don't get ITA invite at wrong time.

you can do that, it would save you some headache. If you get the ITA, you can then put the exact dates in the application....

BTW, is there a way to confirm with CIC? I mean any toll free number or web page. Before loosing those 11 points I want to make sure that it is something which is required.
