Hi everyone,
I am new to this group. I recently got married and urgently need advice in filing spousal visa for my wife. I am a Canadian citizen, living in Canada. My wife lives out of country.
The question I have is related to sponsorship. I got laid off little over a year ago and couldn't work since then due to some health issues. I got EI for first 6 months (till July 2016) and since then have been living on savings. Please advise if I am eligible to sponsor my wife. Does unemployment automatically makes me ineligible to sponsor spouse? What concerns do I need to address in filing her sponsorship application. How do you suggest me to proceed with the entire application process? Do I even stand a chance for the approval of sponsorship application?
I really appreciate your help on this. Sorry for being full of questions. Hope some members can suggest me a way out with their valuable inputs.
Thanks,
PS: I am better health wise now and working to enter the job market again. Hoping to secure a job within 1-3 months. Sharing this just in case if it makes a difference.
