You should post your question to a US forum. Try this one:

http://forums.immigration.com/

Or contact the US embassy, see http://canada.usembassy.gov/visas/information-for-canadians.html

I am sure the Pakistani passport has a lot to do with it. Even without the passport, they see your place of birth on the Canadian passport which is also Pakistan I guess. Also, your name might be another factor. It is called profiling.

Yes, if you were denied entry to the U.S. twice before, it will be an issue just about every time you show up at the border. If you believe you were unfairly denied entry to the U.S., there are administrative procedures to request that your record is cleared, but I imagine it is a nightmare. Not fun.

Apparently all it means is that the officer was not convinced that he OP would leave the US after his stay. See: http://integrity-legal.com/legal-blog/us-visa-immigration/exclusion-from-the-united-states-under-ina-section-212a7/. Surprising, given the fact that he is a Canadian citizen.

I think it's best to stick with only your canadian passport in general when you are travelling. Save your pakistani passport for pakistan. It will save you lots of trouble.

true... but place of birth is also on Canadian passport :(

I think on your Canadian passport you have the option of removing palce of birth. I know a lot of Pakistnais who have done that because they constantly get harrassed at the border

Well another reason to harass you. If I am an immigration officer and I don't see your birth place on your passport I will think you have something to hide and I will pull you aside :P

"Where were you born," is usually the first or second question U.S. CBP poses to non- U.S. citizens. Heck, sometimes they even ask that of U.S. citizens!
