I am not sure if this is the right topic, but I will try.

I am US citizen and my parents are Canadian citizen (so am I too). They are getting old and it's easier if I can move them closer to me. I want to see if I try to get them green card, can they live 6 months out of a year in each country (US and canada) and maintain health care in Canada? They can be resident on tax form for both countries I know. Any input would help. Thanks!

Maintaining health care in Canada depends on the province but in most cases it's based on staying in their province 183 days a year or longer and in Ontario, it's less or 153 days a year. However, if they are going to be staying in the US for months at a time, they should definitely have an emergency/accident insurance to take care of emergencies. You can not expect that for any health problem, they will have ample time to travel to Canada to get it taken care of.

As far as I can google, as Green card holders, they will fall under Obamacare so if they are outside the US for less than 330 days a year, they are obligated to get insured in the US and will face a penalty if they don't.

Staying in the US around 6 months a year should be enough for them to keep their green cards. If they are planning to stay outside for 330 days or more to avoid the Obamacare law, it may not be enough to keep their Green cards. There is no minimum time per year that they must stay in the US to keep their Green cards but US immigration officers can start to give them trouble if they perceive them to be living in Canada on a permanent basis.
