Hi friends,

Need your advice.

Got ITA in Jan. I worked in Canada from Aug 2015 - Sep 2016, and got points for 1 year Canada experience. I have T4 for 2015 that covers duration from Aug - Dec 2015. However, have not received the T4 for 2016, which will account for my tenure Jan-Sep 2016. Although, I have salary slips for June and July pay cycles, should I wait for 2016 T4, before submitting my application? Or, I should submit application with LoE explaining absence of T4? Is T4 a mandatory requirement? I have got employer reference letter with required information.

Thanks.

Only the reference letter is mandatory, everything else that you're able to provide is an added plus.

it is completely okay if you have pay stubs proving your Experience

T4s are issued in February, so you should have the T4 for 2016 very soon. In any case, as long as you have the T4 from 2015 and your final paystub (or your Record of Employment), you have sufficient documentation (along with the letter, of course).

I disagree that the letter is the only "mandatory" document - even the absence of a letter can be overcome (with great difficulty, but nonetheless).

In fact, IRCC wants the letter plus supporting documention. The EASIEST supporting document to supply is the T4 / NOA. Because of Canada's privacy legislation, IRCC cannot "mandate" that people provide the T4 or NOA - this much is true. But if you want a trouble-free application, you would be very wise to submit them anyway.
