You should assume this won't be possible. To change to a work permit you must find an employer who is willing to offer you a job. Next, the employer must obtain an approved LMIA and prove no Canadian could be found for the job. This is usually a 4-6 month process that is quite expensive for the employer with no guarantee of approval at the end. The vast majority of employers aren't willing to go through the LMIA process. You should assume it won't be possible to find an employer willing to offer you a job.
