I have shipped my CEC application through Canada Express post on 02rd April ,
Current tracking status shows " 2013/04/08 04:01 SYDNEY Item processed at local delivery facility".

I called up and open ticket with Canada post , They say there are scanning issues in Sydney location,
and they say they will contact me with the delivery information with in 5 days,

Anybody in the faced same situation , I am worried ,Please respond.

Thanks,

Yea this happened to me last year while applying for my lmo bound work permit as my PG work permit was expiring. These Canada post guys screwed up big time and I lost my legal status in Canada. They assured me that the delivery would be in 2 days but it took them 7 days to deliver. However, I didn't leave them, I sat on their case everyday and even yelled at a few rude agents and made sure they rectify this mistake and inform CIC that they were the reason for me losing my status. Then they agreed to issue an apology letter stating the delay was from their end. I mailed that letter to work permits in vegreville alberta and lucky the officer remove my restoration status and made it regular work permit status.
Phewwww

I got exactly the same msg when I tracked my xpresspost number.
I guess that it may be due to that they have lots mails to delivery.

Hello bluelagoon019,

When your mail reached Sydney , What Canada post told you?

Hi there,
I sent it on April 3rd. From the Canada post website, I tracked that it arrived in Sydney but always was in transition and wasn't delivered yet. No worries. The deliver information will be updated soon.

I too had problems sending in my application . It got there in 5 days not 3 days like promised. So i called and got a full refund.

I always recommend courier service for safe delivery(like Fedex). CIC accepts application thru Fedex also. It may be costly but at least it gives peace of mind. My two cents for all new applicants...

Really? That's excellent haha
you called Canada post to complain?

Yes i did indeed. I remember hearing a lady talk about getting a refund for her express post a while back when it wasn't delivered on time so i said why not try it. It cost me $15 to ship it express post so the refunded me my 15$ .

Dimma, your tracking information about xpressport was updated?
Mine is still the same 'SYDNEY, Item processed at local delivery facility'' since April 8th.

Guys I want to send my application via express post...should I write courier address on my envelope?

Hi Dimma,

The same exact thing happened to me. Mailed application packet via XpressPost on February 22, 2013, and to date there has been no update. Still says as of today, 02/24/2013 Item Processing at Facility...BUT I received my AOR on April 9, 2013!

I called Canada Post back in early March and they explained that due to the large volume of mail received by the CIC office they don't scan all the mail they receive. That's why this happens. So not to worry, your packet is probably delivered.

You are also entitled to a full refund if you used XpressPost - as they guarantee 3day business delivery. I raised a ticket and also called. I got sent a cheque in the mail for the full amount.

Hope that helps.

Cheers.

Thanks keden.

@bluelagoon - mine is also showing the same status from April 08.Better you check with canada post .I raised a ticket and waiting for the reply .As keden said we can also hope that it might have reached there by 8th itself.

This might be the worst case senerio but happened to my friend so would like to share:

while he sent 2 passports for VISA stamp to Ottawa, Canada post dint took no responsibility for registered post and simply said the package was probably lost and will re-imburse max $100/package with letter stating they lost it, while my friend had to pay $300/ticket cancelation. after a week luckily they found package and visa was issued.

Good Luck!!
