Hi folks,

I need some help on the work experience certificate for Permanent Residency process. As i went through the CIC website it has clearly stated the candidate must provide a letter from the employer stating the date of joining, years of experience and no of hours per week etc. But i feel this is a little tough to obtain because no employer will be willing to issue the letter when we are engaged with the organisation.

Even if i get my ITA and resign my job the very next day i have to serve for a period of 3 months (Notice Period) and only then i can get my experience certificate.

1. Is there any other way of proving my work experience which is accepted by CIC ?

2. Has anyone successfully did the above other than employer's experience letter ?

Need help fellas !!!

If you current employer will not issue this letter/you do not want to request it, you can get a letter with all required details signed by your manager or colleague on plain paper. Get it notarized, explain why you are unable to provide reference letter from employer and attach supporting documents such as offer letter, payslips, promotion letter etc. in support of this employment. As long as the employment is genuine and you can prove it, that's all CIC is concerned with.

Many have gone this route - so you are not the first or the last :-)

what of if the manager who issued the letter is no more. how do CIC reach him via email or phone since there will be no contacts.

You have to get the letter from your current manager at the time of submitting the application - if he leaves after that they can always contact HR if needed. Alternatively, mention the cell number and/or personal email (along with official email) of the person signing the letter so there are alternate ways of contacting should CIC need the same.

Thanks all !! I have collected all the documents from my office (originals),

1. Appointmnet Letter
2. Rating Letters (5 yrs)
3. Appraisal letters (5 yrs)
4. Deputation letter for Onsite Travel ( UK, Egypt and Dubai)
5. Tax Forms
6. Pay Slips

Have also planned on getting reference letters from HR and Colleagues (Managers and Peers)..!! Hope this will help to prove my experience.
