Can you renew your passport once you get your PPR??

Hi Guys,

Today I got the golden email stating that I have to send my passport for stamping. The email also said the following:

"We are unable to issue a visa beyond the expiry date in your passport. You passport must be valid for at least six months."

My passport expires in Jun of 2016. Although it meets the requirement that the email had, I was wondering If I can renew my passport and then send it to them? Can I do that? Can i renew my passport after PPR and send it to them for stamping or they would need the same passport that I used to apply last december.

Your passport expired more than five years. Get a new passport asap.

If I was you I would rather get it renewed now as it takes time for renewals. If you are applying for visas like WP your expired passport may impact your visa validity duration
