hi, i already have my working visa and still waiting for my oec... i will be working in edmonton, alberta but i don't know how to travel there... some told me that i have to book a flight to vancouver then take a local flight.... can you give me instructions how to go about these.... thanks

You did not mention from which country you are?. Otherwise I could have given a proper answer.
However, there are several flights to EDMONTON International airport from different countries. You can ask your travel agent to get a flight to Edmonton with one or more stop over according to the place and date of travel. Try Air Canada with connecting flight from your country.
