I intended to attend a conference in Canada in April. However, my TRV application got refused. I have a valid US visa for 5 years. Is it possible for me to go to Canada using my US visa? I read that it's allowed to go to Canada with a valid US B1/B2 visa, for 30 days..

This applies only to Indians having a valid Permanent Residence in US

Yeah, this is likely what OP read.

US Permanent residence = Green Card

A B1/B2 visa = not a Green Card = does not permit you entry into Canada.

OP still needs a valid TRV to enter Canada.

(Edited to add after Bryanna's response below): This applies not to just Indians, but other nationalities requiring visas to enter Canada but possess a US Green Card.

The OP does not hold an Indian passport. His US B1/B2 was issued for 5 years = Most probably holds a Bangladesh, Pakistan, or maybe other passport which is granted a 5-years validity B1/B2
