None of us is carrying 10 grand

The law says 10 grand or more.

If u don't [carry] -- u don't [declare].
However, if u do [carry] -- declaring is just a paperwork... nothing more than that !

I have received quite a few query from members on this topic and I feel that they do want to declare the amount of money they bring into Canada.....its just that they want to re-confirm if what they are doing is right. And since we have a rolling audience of members on this forum.....it creates an allusion and we keep getting these queries over and over.

And I also feel that members do not quite EXPLOIT THE SEARCH BUTTON on the right hand corner of the web page.

1. First concern - Is the $10,0000 limit per application (PA, Spouse), or is it per person?
And the limit is per person (PA and Spouse : $10,0000 times 2).

2. The second concern is, whether declaring more than $10,0000 (per person) might have any negative impact on TAX?

And the answer to that is -NO.

Another points...If you don't declare, but are asked for Proof of Funds, you are still gonna show/tell that you and wife are carrying 9Gs each......

I wont take a chance on 1person/10,000CAD or 1Family/10,000CAD thingy.
I would definitely declare to avoid any complications.
