Can we go ahead and apply for BOWP with the "automated" AOR? (CEC-specific)

There seems to be some confusion on this Express Entry (CEC) related question...

According to ( http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/work/prov/bridging.asp )
"For CEC applications, the status of the Eligibility CEC activity has been set to “Passed” or the Acknowledgement of Receipt letter or e-mail has been sent by the CIO."

There seems to be a lot of candidates on this forum who are getting an automated "AOR" right after their PR application submission. Sometimes as quick as a few hours after uploading documents...

Is this automated AOR solely enough for BOWP? If not, how long does it take for your "CEC Eligibility Status" to turn to "Passed"? Can those of you with on-going applications advise?

Alternatively, has anyone received an official AOR letter/email after their status turned "Eligible"?

Cheers!

This is apparently the body of the automated AOR email:

[size=7pt]"This confirms that your application for permanent residence in Canada was received by Citizenship and
Immigration Canada (CIC) via your MyCIC account on .
We have created a file with the application number provided above. You must quote this application number in
any future correspondence.
Your application is being checked to determine whether it meets the requirements of a complete application
pursuant to Section 10 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) Regulations.
If your application does not meet the requirements of this section, your application will be rejected as incomplete
and any fees paid will be returned.
Processing of your application
CIC intends to process most cases in six months or less, However, processing time vary. The processing time
associated with your application will depend on the individual circumstances of your file. You will be able to check
the status of your application via your MyCIC account.
If further information is required for CIC to process your application, CIC will notify you through your MyCIC
account.
Interview
If you are required to attend an interview, you will be notified of the appointment in your MyCIC account and you
will be provided with further instructions at that time.
Let us know
If your circumstances change you have to let us know. To notify CIC of changes to your application, visit
select the office that serves the country in which you are
living, and follow the directions for "Case Specific Enquiry."
More particularly, please inform us about any:
• Change in circumstances such as the loss of a job offer or a Provincial or Territorial nomination;
• Change in family composition including new born children, adopted children, divorce, marriage etc;
• Change of address, including change of e-mail address;
• Change of immigration representative;
• Request to withdraw your application;
Thank you for your interest in coming to Canada."

Not sure if it is enough to be able to apply for BOWP.

We both know that there is usually more knowledge in this community than a CIC call agent's uncertain answer to some queries. Just looking for feedback from people who's been in the same situation.

We had applied for a BOWP in February based on an AOR for an application sent in 2014. That file was returned in February (due to being incomplete) and we had no option except wait for Express Entry scores to come down:( We didn't withdraw our work permit application as we had a lot of days left for processing and were hoping to get selected for Express Entry and update this application. But, we received an AOR a few days ago for express entry as well (ITA for March 20th draw) and we updated our BOWP application. Our PGWP were expiring tomorrow and our new permit got approved today :) So yes, to answer your questions you can use the Express Entry AOR for BOWP extension.

Good luck everyone!

Oh wow, lucky!

And just to be clear, you have only used your "automated" AOR email? Not necessarily another form of secondary AOR, right?

fat_penguin: yes, to confirm, we only used the auto generated AOR to update our application. Since your UCI id is linked with ALL your applications, it should be fairly easy for CIC to refer back to for your work permit application.

Bump. Anyone else?
At what stage after the ITS is the AOR generated? Is it after submitting all documents?
