Got invitation to sponsor my parents for 2023 intake.
I am required to provide proof of income for 2020 , 2021 and 2022.
In 2020 - for the first nine months of the year I was in USA on TN visa and my income was from USA employers.
Can income earned outside of Canada be considered as proof of income when applying for sponsorship?
I did show this income in my world income when filing 2020 taxes with CRA.

To the best of my knowledge you can include this income provided you declared it in your CRA return, which it souds like you did.

Disagree that you qualify. You had not been working or living in Canada since January 2018 so never qualified to apply for EOI in 2020. The whole point of PGP is to allow a small number of lucky people who have been living and working in Canada to be able to sponsor their parents. If you had been working in the US since 2018 your income would not count towards qualifying for PGP until you had returned to Canada permanently. Not sure how you rationalized that you qualified to apply for PGP after only returning to live and work in Canada right as EOI2020 had opened after leaving at the end of 2017. The PGP program is supposed to reward people who have been living and working in Canada with the chance of having their parents joint them in Canada permanently.
