There is a new rule in effect from 2 March 2012:
Canadian Permanent Residents who were sponsored as a spouse/common-law partner cannot become a sponsor themselves until they have been a Permanent Resident for 5 years - http://www.canadavisa.com/new-rules-for-family-class-spousal-sponsorship.html

Does it mean that my sponsored wife will not be able to sponsor her parents?

I understand that CIC fights the fraudulent cases so that sponsored people do not sponsor others based on marriage certificates or other fraudulent documentation. But how sponsoring parents can relate to this case?

Parents and grand parents can not be sponsored for now, but it has nothing to do with the rule that you are mentioning - as you noted, this rule doesn't relate to parents.

However, CIC has put sponsoring applications for parents and grand parents on hold for the moment, they can only get "super visas" which last for 2 years. You can read more about it here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-parents.asp

Thanks Sweden! I meant will she be able to sponsor her parents when they enable parent sponsoring? So, you think she still can sponsor her parents after they take the parent sponsoring from hold? It's good :)

no - the new rule doesn't affect her. the full rule is as follow:

New Rules for Spousal Sponsorship

Two new rules have been added for cases of spouse/common-law partner sponsorship. They are the following:

1. 5-Year Restriction on Sponsorship (March 2nd, 2012)

Canadian Permanent Residents who were sponsored as a spouse/common-law partner cannot become a sponsor themselves until they have been a Permanent Resident for 5 years.
In this way, fraudulent applicants will not be able to manipulate the program and sponsor a partner living abroad.

it means that she can not sponsor a spouse or common-law partner for the next 5 years ( that is, in the event that she would leave you - which of course I don't hope for!- she would not be able to sponsor a spouse/common law partner for 5 years). The rule ONLY applies to spouse/common law partners sponsorship - see the part in bold.

For the parents though - it's difficult to know what will happen. The sponsorship for parents and grand parents is on hold for the next 2 years, but nothing guarantees that it will come back after 2 years, or that it will be back in the same form as it is now. Most likely there will be some changes, so she ( and you together probably) will have to see with the new conditions.

You are very attentive. I did not pay attention to these words :) You clarified very clearly.
Thanks a ton!
