Can the citizenship test date be brought forward (already have urgent processing)?

Until today, I was so pumped that my test invite (and letter) was mailed in...and confirmed to be Feb 16. My application is under urgent processing for work reasons.

However, I just got scheduled for a work trip on that date, that I cannot move!!!

Is it possible to request IRCC move the test forward to an earlier date? Or do they only move it to a later date? Has anyone succeeded in this?

Also, if anyone can give some input on how their conversation with IRCC went to reschedule their test date? Did they reschedule you on the spot? Or did you have to wait for ECAS to update with the new date?

you are playing with fire ,,, it it bad idea to have ( no-show ) on your citizenship application ,, then your applicatio will go from urgent tp non routine ,, do yourself a faor and attend the exam

You can most certainly inform them that you cannot attend the test, but you will have to send a letter in with an explanation.

As you can imagine...this will take time. I sent them a webform- email and it took them six weeks to acknowledge the receipt...leave alone, no response.

If you need to postpone your test you need to be prepared to wait.

I cannot see anybody being able to give you a new date on the phone, as the person answering the phone is not your case agent. I also consider it highly unlikely for them to move your test date forward as the slots are usually full.

Try and avoid postponing your test!

Thanks for the advice all. I'm very hesitant to postpone the test...I've been waiting all my life (in Canada) for this!! So I'll try my best to move my work trip somehow.

Call in sick, people get sick it happens. Your test is more important in my opinion
