Hi All,

I am currently applying my student visa. If my partner finds a job in banking or marketing, will he be able to lodge PR?

Is it really this simple or there are few links I am missing?

any province that allows this?

Probably not. What program would he be eligible for PR through?

If you're just arriving in Canada as a student he can apply for a partner work permit, but that's not PR nor a direct path to it. Job field doesn't matter.

Some provinces offer provincial nominations to foreign master's students.

Thanks mate.

I recently came to know that if a partner is able to find a proper job & gets a job letter, he can apply for a permanent residence.

Is there any role of LIMA for getting a job?

It's not very clear which program you are asking about.

Generally speaking, the employer needs to obtain an approved LMIA to claim job offer points.

HI Scylla,

Sorry if did'nt made any sense before.

I am going on a student visa. since my partner has a good experience in marketing & banking. Someone advised us that there are chances that if my partner is able to find a professional job in marketing or banking... He will be eligible to apply for FSWP / Province nomination program.

While I made a research over the internet, i came to know the if company hires me, they need to get a LIM Assessment to satisfy my hiring.

With the aforementioned state, is it true that we can apply for Permanent Residency?

It depends on the program. Each one has its own requirements.

For FSW, if your partner wants to claim job offer points, an approved LMIA is needed from the employer.
