Can someone use bank statement of brother-in-law for Canadian tourist visa

I myself and my wife are planning to visit canada. I 'm employed but i think i don't have sufficient funds in bank. Rather my mother have good job to show for my bank statement. But my brother-in-law is bearing my expenses for this trip. Can i show/upload his bank statement?

You need to show liquid cash that is sufficient to pay for duration of your trip. No one sells property to temporary visit a country.
