Hi everyone,
My husband and I are planning to take our MBAs in Canada. We're interested in Ivey but the program duration is only 12 months, which means we will only get a 12-month PGWP. After PGWP expires, we don't have enough Canada experience (at least 1 year) to add to our Express Entry profile yet.
Therefore, we are thinking of doing it this way:
- Year 1: My husband will take the course first. Meanwhile I will be on Spouse OWP
- Year 2: My husband obtain PGWP and I will still have my Spouse OWP status (meanwhile applying to MBA programs)
- Year 3: when my husband's PGWP expires, I will do my MBA (student visa) and my husband will be on Spouse OWP status.
My questions:
- Is the above plan correct? Can my husband switch from PGWP to Spouse OWP after PGWP expires?
- Is there any gap that I should be aware of?
Thank you so much for reading and sharing your knowledge on our case.
