hi i am currently in hong kong trying to complete my BA (business studies). im 23 years old and with 1 year left, im starting to panic....i feel as if im going to be stuck in this crowded city of hong kong.

i have always wanted to be an automotive mechanic in Canada, i just want to live by the country sides and basically just fix cars for living. is there hope for that?

i have lived in hong kong for my entire life, the highschool i attended in hong kong is a Canadian international school which uses the Ontario curriculum. however, i've only reached year 11 and have not graduated highschool because i went to UK to study in a collage for 2 years which didn't work out too well.

-i have no experiences with the auto industry......
-at the age of 17 i was arrested for possession of 0.13g of hash...:(
-i speak fluent english
-stayed in Vancouver for a summer when i was a kid

if im going to be flipping burgers for the rest of my life in hongkong im just going to end it now, im just so depressed now i think its gonna get worst soon. can someone please either give me some hope or just tell me that there is no hope left and im stuck in hong kong .

You are young and have time on your side, so do not lose hope. Either way, immigration is a rather expensive option, with fees and settlement funds. Even if you go and study there, it will come at a price. So the first thing to establish is whether you are able and willing to spend in that direction.

Many years ago, I had seen an advertisement circulating through chain mails on the net about a convicted marijuana smuggler who was looking for a trucking job - so an arrest at 17 is not the end of the world, even though serious. You haven't specified the result of the arrest.

Your best bet would be to consult an immigration lawyer and take your chances.

Good luck and chin up. You'll be fine.
