Hello everyone.

On behave of my friend, I would like to ask if one can take required funds in US Dollars instead of Canadians while landing in Canada?

Please note that my friend has gotten immigration with his family of 3 & want to bring US dollars with them equal to required Canadian dollars as prove of funds.

Thanks.

Nice to have your comment.

I would also like to add further as he has savings in US dollars & since in Pakistan, Canadian dollar is expensive than US dollar in terms of Pak Rs., he is preferring US dollars.

Other seniors comments would be appreciate as well.

Thanks.

The question is when he reaches Canada and exchanges US dollars to Canadian dollars will it profitable there or if he exchanges US dollars to Canadian dollars in Pakistan and take canadian dollars there?

I think if he exchanges US dollars to Canadian dollars in Pakistan and take Canadian dollars there that will be more profitable. This is just my sole opinion.

Thanks

The exchange rate changes on a daily/hourly basis. Over the last few months, on some days the Canadian dollar has been worth more than the US dollar - and on other days the US dollar has been worth more than the Canadian dollar. It's impossible to say what the exchange rate will be in the future. So you'll have to guess.

If you want to see today's exchange rates, just visit the web site of one of the big Canadian banks (e.g. TD, Scotia, BMO).

Hi,

phdmaker

Yes no problem to show the USD currency as POF.
It will be little deference to exchange CAD to USD, not huge deference. (today rate is about 1.00 USD=1.03001 CAD) it could be little up or down. He can calculate both currency in pak RS and then can decide what is the deference between both currency. CAD is higher then USD and not available easily comparing to USD in PAK.

hope it helps
