can pr just landed with landing papers without pr card holder can sponsor their parents or not

No, it is not easy to sponsor parents. You have to be able to show enough income in Canada to support your parents as well as your own family for 3 years in a row before you can apply. There is a quota for parents that fills up very fast each year so you also have to time your application right. Your parents will have to pass medicals in order to qualify and the application takes several years to process. If you just landed in Canada, you will be lucky if you manage to get your parents within 8 years.

I heard they can get visa (NOT PR) that can enable them to stay for max period of 2 years. Is this true ?

Yes, it is called a super visa but for this, you also have to show that you have income to support your parents for the past 3 years and you need to arrange health insurance for them.

Another option would be to apply for a regular visit visa which allows 6 months at a time and then they can apply to extend after 5 months if they want to stay longer.

Is it a requirement for the supervisa to prove enough income for the past 3 years? I've been working here for a bit less than 2 years :-[

No, for the Supervisa, you can get away with less than 3 years of documented income. There is no 3 year requirement.

Perfect, thanks! :)

Right, seems that I am wrong and there is no 3 years requirement for super visa. I think there used to be but no idea really. The current rules just say you need to make that much money (past year probably) and that's it.
