Can PGWP holders apply for work extenions?

Can anyone advise or know if Post-graduation work permit holders can apply to extend their open work permits?...Not talking about implied status BUT just being able to generally extend their open work permit?...If they allow extension for PGWP holders, will they give employer-specific or open work permits?...I know many of us are left out by the EE requiring LMIA...Please advise.

No, you have to go through LMIA process.
