Good day,

My wife has an open work permit that will expire on July 31, 2015. She is currently working part time. Is the part time work sufficient to apply for a non-open work permit?

Thank you

1. No, LMIAs will only be issued for full time work.

Thank you for your reply.

I have found this link (.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/2015-02-09.asp) that open work permit holders applying for specific work permits that the employer only needs to pay a compliance fee and no LMIA is required. Although nothing is mentioned regarding Full-time/Part time work as a requirement. Please clarify when possible. Thank you again
