Hi there,

I have a couple of questions in regards to what's permitted during the processing time of a Spouse Visa.

1) Is it possible for my spouse (Filipina) to visit Canada as a tourist for a short time (2-3 weeks), to open a join bank account with me (her physical presence is mandatory unfortunately), whilst her Spouse Visa application is processing? Or does she have to wait until she (hopefully) is granted PR?

2) In general, is she allowed to visit as a tourist during the processing time? With the correct tourist visa, of course.

3) In addition, if a tourist visa is for any reason denied during the processing time of the Spouse Visa, would this negatively impact the decision of the Spouse Visa?

I figure a joint account would help our case as a legitimate married couple.

Thanks

1) Yes, she can certainly visit.
2) Yes.
3) Only if there are multiple refusals (e.g. 3+).
