Hi,

My wife and I are both get high scores on the CRS calculator

She gets 484, I get 464

Our IELTS and ECA is all done, we are ready to apply.

Now, can we file two separate applications?

1. Her as primary, with me as the dependent
2. Me as primary, with her as the dependent

Or do we have to pick which one of us will be the primary applicant and we're forced to file only one application?

I want to do this because she and I have very different work profiles. I am in corporate management, she's a lawyer. So let's say she gets an ITA first (which is likely), we can decide whether there are good jobs there to move for, and if not, we hang around and wait to see if I get an ITA. It's easier for me to get a job in my field, law is a special field with licensing requirements.

Bonus Question - Any lawyers in here - not immigration lawyers, people who are practicing in the US and want to move to Canada - My wife is qualified in New York and India - does the Canadian bar have any form of reciprocity?

Both of you can have EE profile with the other person as dependant. Once you recieve ITA on one profile, you will just deactivate the other.

Do we need to really deactivate or can we do it after we get the PPR request for one. So that if suppose the one was rejected we can use the other applicant.

nice scores firstly :)

it would be better if other profile is deactivated, just creates unnecessary clutter...

as long as all your docs are fine, in order - there is almost 0% chance of rejection

Either you will be rejected on both ITA (for example for medical conditions) or you will pass easily. If you have needed paperwork, then no need to fear.
Also, you can recreate the other profile again even if it was deleted in the past.
I think, that you are even requested to deactivate the other profile once you accept ITA.

Problem is he got his scores bumped up because of sinp nomination. If we deactivate his profile he will loose his nominations.

Is his SINP the EE version or is it paper version one.
If it is for paper version only, he cannot claim those points in EE entry anway and has to proceed with the old way.

If he got his PNP points in EE version, then it is most likely him, who will get ITA upon next draw.
However if you get both ITA at the same time and choose to go with you as main applican, he still has to deactivate his profile. It is only possible to have 2 EE profiles when you are dependant to each other but not when you get ITA.

If you go with his profile, then you also have to land in SK later.

He got his nomination first and i got invitation 2 months later. If they will be able to easily find this, then i will go ahead deactivating his profile.
