Title says it all,
before we send in the papers we need to do her medical, right?
so if she comes up to canada can she do the medical required for the visa up here?
would it still cost the same amount?

yes, i believe getting it done in Canada is usually cheaper. we are paying $190 for the whole medical in Toronto. i think a lot of people chose to do it here

Hi jakesalomons,

I had my medicals done here in Montreal rather than in the U.S. - no problem whatsoever.

It is usually much less than in the United States - it was roughly half the cost for me.

I hope this helps!

Hey there :) My wife had her medical done here in Ontario.. the doctor just wanted to know which Visa Office I would be sending my Application to.. then he writes that down on the file.. He said the results go to Ottawa to be tested. and then they send the results that they found over to the Visa Office you mentioned.. Simple as that :)

Yes that is fine. It's also much cheaper in Canada than in the UK. Shop around - I got mine done in Toronto in July last year for $148 at a place on College Street. Dr. Pinilla I think was his name.

Hello again jakesalomons,

If you are thinking of having your medicals done in Montreal you are welcome to PM me and I'll share the name and location of the group that did mine. They also did the exams for my dependant children a month or so after mine, when they visited me here in Montreal. It's no big deal at all and you know that the exam is being done in the way it should be if you have it done by an approved facility in Canada (as I said, it is much less expensive too).

I looked around for an approved group with an excellent reputation that did everything in one place rather than sending you from office to office for Xrays or blood work. I think this is an important issue - not only is it a pain to run between offices... ...it also makes it more likely that something will get lost along the way.

I hope this helps!

WOW! I am getting mine done in Newfoundland on March 28th. I have been advised that I will be charged $492 in total!
