Can my mother enter the US for 1 day and re-enter Canada to get her a new 6 month Visa?

Background:

My mom is on a trv - her trv is about to expire - she has a US tourist visa - can we get her across to the US and comeback - will the CBSA grant her a new 6 month stay visa ?

It's a bad idea. Whether she's allowed back into Canada and allowed to extend her visit will be entirely up to the CBSA officer she encounters at the border. Quite possible CBSA may feel she's attempting to live in Canada on a visitor visa and deny a longer visit. If she wants to stay in Canada longer, she should apply for an extension from within Canada - higher chances of success. Border runs are often frowned upon by CBSA - higher chance of refusal.
