Hey guys, my dad is planning to visit me later in September. We are not planning to buy a return ticket at this time since we do not know how long he will stay here. It will depend on how well he is able to handle the cold and we do not want to risk booking a return ticket and then cancelling it. Would it be possible for him to board the flight to Canada, enter Canada, and pass immigration without having the return ticket or will not having a return ticket create problems for him. He has a TRV. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

September is not cold in Vancouver. He needs a return ticket if CBSA ask him.

If he is entering on a TRV, he needs to have a return ticket. A one way ticket is only possible if he is holding a super visa.
