Hi.

I know many people who became permanent residents of Canada early this year is in limbo with their PR card application.

I myself mailed my photo and my COPR to visa office and am yet to even receive any kind of acknowledgement.

I was able to 'link' my mail application in my online IRCC account but I did not even get an AoR for half a year by now and am getting slowly worried about few things.

I couldn't find answers for these hypothetical questions posted anywhere and was wondering if anyone could help me.

1. Do I really need PR card if I do not plan to leave Canada?

I already have driver's license as a form of Canadian ID and I got my permanent SIN with COPR letter.

As I will be staying in Canada working and studying, I do not envision myself leaving Canadian border or having to return to Canada from other countries.

What could be the implication of lack of PR card for people like me?

2. How do I prove that I did everything correctly?

If lack of PR card can somehow negatively impact my status, is there any possible thing I can do to prove that I filed my applications and there was nothing left for me to rectify anything? Do I need to contact visa office directly or write a letter to Minister of IRCC himself???
