CAN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT WITH AN OFF-CAMPUS WORK PERMIT START A BUSINESS

Hey,

I am an International Student doing my Masters Degree in the Province of Quebec. I do have my off-campus work permit, which allows me to work 20 hours a week during college days, and full time during school break..

However, I would like to know if I am eligible to get a 'Business Number' & Register and open a business. I am thinking about an 1) import/export business or 2)working as an independent agent for import/export trade.

Can someone give some light pls..

1. As for the business number and registration you have to check with local provincial authorities.
2. You still can't work more than 20 hours per week during the school year, and you still have to keep your grades up.
