Can I work in Canada while waiting for PR but expired Work Permit

Hi,

I submitted by application for PR card (already got invitation to apply). Since my Work Permit is expiring in Nov 2018, I was wondering if in case I don't get any updates from CIC do I need to renew my work permit or apply for a bridging work permit or can I just continue working until I receive a response from CIC. No, there is no implied status in this case. As you said, you’ll have to either renew your work permit or apply for BOWP if you still do not have a decision on your permanent residence application (PR card is a different thing) by the time your work pemit expires.
