Hello There,

I am an International Full-Time student at Concordia University, Montreal , Quebec and wanted to work Full-Time in summer (40 hours/week). I want to know whether I needed to apply for any work permit via immigration Canada in this regard or my study permit will suffice.

Secondly, I heard there is an update to the Work-Study rules where I can work Full-Time and take up a credited course in the summer. Is this true?

Thanks in advance for your guidance and suggestions!

Do you have the condition in your SP that you can work off-campus?

Here’s the link from IRCC:

Yes, I do! But my two queries are whether I need a special work permit to work Full Time in summer and whether I can be enrolled in a single, 4 credit course whilst working Full-Time in summer.

No, you don’t need a separate work permit. So long as you remain a fulltime student during regular semester and your college/uni have summer breaks then you can work fulltime during breaks.
