Can I visit Pakistan while my PR application is in progress?

Hi,
I am currently on my work permit. Next my month I will be applying for EOI and then MPNP. Hopefully I will get an approval by June/July. My concern is when I apply for PR application. How long does it get to approve the PR. I wanted to visit Pakitan for couple of months after applying for PR. However my work permit and visa are for one year only (will expire in November). I heard that PR takes upto 18 months is it true? If yes, can I go to Pakistan for a year without risking my application? And do I need to extend my work permit too?

I'm not sure if you can be absent from Canada while your PR is in progress but I don't see why not.
Also, you can extend you work permit through the CIC website while your PR application is pending. I have done this 3 time because my application has been delayed for various reasons. Good luck.

How much fund should be there in my bank account while applying? I am already in Canada working full time, does that make any difference bcz I have heard you need $10k in ur account.
