Can I use tourist visa now and immigrant visa later?

I've both 5 years tourist visa and immigrant visa. I need to activate immigrant/PR by Dec 1st. But I'm planning to go to canada next week to visit my bf. Will they allow me to use tourist visa now as I can only move to canada end Nov?

I think so. My wife wanted to visit me after getting COPR but she was not ready to land yet. So she came up and entered as a visitor without landing (she has a visa exempt passport). On her next trip to Canada she officially landed.

I assume you can do something similar.

You do realize you can officially land and then return to your home country until you are ready to move at the end of November.

What stream did you obtain your PR visa in?
