I will be admitted to a 2-year programme in August 2021, and I am going to apply for study permit as soon as i receive the LOA from the college. I may expect that I could have my study permit being approved by March 2021 if things are all right.

My question is that, I wish to go to Canada in around May 2021 to have a visit first before I start my study there in Aug 2021. So, would it be possible that I can use ETA to enter Canada (just as a visitor) even at that time my study permit is approved? will the staff at the port of immigration stop me and saying that I am entering Canada too early because my program starts only in Aug 2021?

I feel so frustrated about this ... hope someone here would have experience on this and provide me some advice, thanks

You can seek entry as a visitor if travel restrictions allow you to do so and you satisfy the officer at the POE that you are a genuine visitor, but to receive your study permit you would have to leave and return, even if just by flagpoling at the border.
