Can I travel with open work permit?

Hi People,

I hope you can help me with a couple questions: I have a PGWP valid until 2025 but I am applying for PR since 2 months ago via family sponsorship inside Canada. I am going out of the country for 2 weeks, but a lawyer told me that I cannot go out only if I have humanitarian reasons.

I would like to ask if some one has experience with that before, If I have open work permit and not approved PR yet can I go outside of the country?

Short trip is usually OK. (provided you have eTA or Visitor visa to return)
You need to live in Canada with your sponsor (spouse/common law partner) while being sponsored inland.
