Hello all

can i travel USA and back to Canada on expired TRV but valid open work permit?

i am inland and currently have valid work permit until march 2017. My PR application is in final stages (expecting by August 2016)

Reason for travel is interview with an employer that will operate in Canada from USA....

TRV is different from work permit. Thats why you should renew it before you cross the border or out of the country. For you to avoid hassle. Anyway TRV is very important esp if you are planning to have a out of the country vacation. Get the multiple entry so you can use it many times. Try to read your work permit there is written there that it will not garantee you from re-entry.

1. Yes, you can, as long as you only visit the US or St. Pierre et Miquelon and return within the validity of your work permit.
