Hello everyone,

I arrived in Canada on a work permit 4 months back as an IT manager on Intra-company transfer. Now, I have a offer from another employer, I need help for below.

1. Can I transfer my existing work permit to this new employer?

If No, then
2. If my new employer applies a new LMO in ontario, what is the processing time to get a Positive LMO.
3. Can I apply for new work permit for this new employer from within Canada itself or do I need to apply outside Canada?

Thanks in Advance.

1) No
2) I believe it's roughly around 8 weeks
3) You can apply to change condition in canada as a worker. The cic instructions are here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/extend-worker.asp

1) and 2) have already been answered but I would like to add to 3) that if you are visa exempt to Canada and have a positive LMO in your hand, it is faster to get a new work permit at the border than to apply inland. You drive to the border with your 150$ and LMO, turn around at the US side, arrive back in Canada and apply for your new work permit and get it instantly.

Agrees with Leon, a flagpole at the Border is easy if you have all the paperwork and from a visa exempt Country.

Thanks a lot to everyone for the info.

I am not from a Visa Exempt country. So I think I need to apply for the work permit from within Canada.
